Dislocated hips, seizures and ABA therapy
He was in Loyola hospital for 3 weeks and was transferred to Marion Joy hospital. He had difficulty with therapy because of his Down syndrom he has weak muscles. When the therapists try to work with him Marco will become aggressive. Therapy has been hard because Marco is nonverbal and cannot say that he is tired or not feeling good.
After our BCBA came to consult with the staff the staff now has tools to work better with Marco. He had a great day in physical therapy. They are doing preference assessments, reinforcing him after each response, giving him breaks before he becomes frustrated, and pairing themselves with his activities.
